Adelina Suvagau – Biography

Adelina Suvagau is an award-winning Romanian Canadian Director and Producer with over 30 years experience in film, television and documentary production. In 1995 Adelina moved from Romania to Vancouver, Canada, with her husband and her daughter Sonia and founded in1998, Sonia Productions Inc. Since 2004, Adelina Suvagau has directed and produced two documentaries, one dramatic short, one stage play, one feature film together with over 1,000 one-hour television episodes of Rompost TV, the Romanian television show for the multicultural television stations Channel M and OMNI BC-Rogers.

In 2021, Adelina received for her film “Box of Freedom” the Award for Social Awareness, from the VYRE Film Festival in Los Angeles (USA), The Shom Legacy Award, from Angaelica Festival, Pasadena, USA, the Best Feature Film Award from the Video Hackers International Film Festival in Italy and the Best Film Award, in the film category offered by the Canadian Ethnic Media. In 2022 Adelina Suvagau received for “Mary Magdalene in Conversation with Lilian Broca” Best film in the documentary award category offered by the Canadian Ethnic Media.

Adelina Suvagau was also awarded in the “Top 100 Romanians Everywhere”, during the 6th edition of the RePatriot Summit, in 2021 in Romania.
